viva las vegas!

we recently went to visit grandma and grandpa chan in las vegas. they got some free rooms on the strip, so they offered to babysit ethan, while phil and i took a mini (emphasis on "mini") vacation. the first night we ate a delicious home-cooked meal, and spent time playing wii with some of their friends. before dinner, ethan decided to entertain us with his rendition of old macdonald.

grandma chan really gets into wii boxing. that night she had two knockouts, reclaiming her title as lightweight champion of the world.

before we left, we ate at their absolutely most favorite place to eat...the fiesta casino buffet. nothing like a buffet before a four hour road trip. notice the bags under everyone's eyes. i think two days with ethan really wiped grandma and grandpa out!

ahh, self-feeding at it's finest.

hangin' out at home

here is one of ethanboy's favorite activities- playing with the most expensive items around the house...and getting his famous drool all over them.

what's your name?

here ethan was trying his best to impress these lovely ladies with his smile...but i don't think they were really interested.

ethan and the banana

ethan happened to be eating this banana when phil decided to use him as a model to try out his new green background.

well, as one would have guessed, ethan loved being on camera, banana and all. here he is giving the camera the "embarassed" look.

all i can say is, "what a ham!"...i have no idea who he gets it from.

happy new year!

on january 1st, we went to halmonee and harabojee's house to eat duk guk (rice cake soup) and celebrate the new year.

ethan got dressed in his korean hanbok and performed a traditional bow to his elders. as you can see, he took it quite seriously.

in return, halmonee presented ethan with some money and blessings for 2008.

after about 10 minutes, ethan was ready to get out of his formal wear.

here he is feeding himself chap chae (korean glass noodles). i guess he didn't feel the one on his face...or maybe he was saving it for later.

at the end of the evening he randomly decided to practice bowing...but with a little twist. here's to thinking out of the box in 2008.
